How to find International internships Accommodation

International internships are a great way for young adventurous types to gain not only valuable resume building work experience but to travel while they work. Depending on if the individual sets up their internship through a placement company or they establish a placement themselves while in a foreign country their accommodations may vary.

The accommodation that is common for a first time international intern that is using a placement agency are pretty standard. Most placement companies can offer a shared apartment in the country of choice that will come furnished with all of the basic amenities. Most apartments include TV, air conditioning, beds, kitchen utensils, dressers, and basic furniture such as chairs, couches and coffee tables.
Another way that agencies house people is in hotels. Sometimes these hotels are owned by the placement agencies. These hotel accommodations can be the full time accommodations provided or can be used temporarily until appropriate accommodations can be found in apartments. These hotels can sometimes also have added benefits such as laundry services as well as opportunities to meet friends in the same programs and share experiences.
Things that a first timer should take note of are many but the most important points are location and cost. The location of the accommodation is usually not far from either the employer of the intern or an appropriate transit route that will get them to work quickly. The walking distance to work location is convenient in that it is only a short distance from work, but these locations are often far from residential areas due to their close proximity to commercial areas. The bus route accommodations share the same features but with opposing benefits with the daily trek to work requiring transit yet the restaurants and shops being closer to home.
It is important for a person to pay special attention to the details of the cost of the accommodations. Some placement companies will deduct the cost of accommodation form the individual's pay while others leave it up to the individual to pay monthly for the rental. Fine print is worth attention as the details often reveal subtle yet sufficient differences in agreements such as if the utilities s are included, if the furnishings are provided, and the conditions of the lease.
Choosing an appropriate placement agency is not difficult. However, one of the most important aspects of international living is the accommodation provided. Since these agencies have helped many people find accommodations in foreign countries they are often the best bet to find suitable and trustworthy accommodations.
